EDOT PArk - West Street, Darrtown

Years ago, a Darrtown resident set aside 3.758 acres of land, that was originally subdivided to build homes, for use as a park with ball diamonds and a playground. The park was used for years by the Darrtown Ball Association. Maintenance and park improvements were made by the Association and through donations and fund raisers. The Township also gave $500 annually.
In 1994 the Township was approached about purchasing the park. To ensure that the ball fields and playground were maintained, the Trustees voted to purchase the land. From that time the Ball Association has applied for and received grants to improve the ball diamonds while the Township has received approximately $100,000 to erect a picnic shelter (can be reserved), new playground equipment, a restroom facility, sidewalks, dugouts, blacktop, a basketball court and sand volleyball.
